I'm trans and the only person who ever paid attention to my pronoun pin (I don't usually pass, so I wear one to class and social gatherings sometimes) was a masc cis woman who loves HP and seems to get all her merch secondhand. She complimented it and has been using the correct pronouns for me ever since. Maybe it's different because we're not in the UK or US.
