I hear you, I agree, and I'm face-palming in solidarity at any fool who thinks they're a genius just because the word "Google" is in their vocabulary. That is annoying.

I've watched that site evolve for over twenty years now and no, it's not even remotely the same. It's profoundly worse than it used to be. Depending on what you're searching for and where in the world you are, you might have an easier time finding what you need in books at local libraries again.

Absolutely. The Google of today is nothing like the Google of yesteryear. I also HATE how difficult it is to find genuine reviews and product recommendations that aren't astroturfing or bots or paid shills (influencers) or blatant ads. Like, maybe I'm ready to spend a little extra money on a higher-quality product that will last me, but it's almost impossible to find good reviews.
