tell me you don't know anything about Chinese history without telling me...

one of the GOOD things about ATLA is how the writers, in spite of their own cultural background, did their research. it's kind of an incredible combo of storytelling conventions (set up a weird perfect storm and then subvert it) and actual history (see: Chinese dynastic history holy shit). Like, kudos, for real.

But... the secret says that there is barely ANY unrest or rebellion over the changing dynasty. So your ~point~ makes no sense if it was about that.
