Your bonus secret reminded me how common that viewpoint was for a long time. My automatic assumption is you are straight, white, American, and middle class. Because everyone else knows that self publishing has been the only avenue for a lot of minority voices and many of them have deals with trad publishers now.

After this piece of absolute garbage, I now feel I owe Christopher Paolini a heartfelt apology for all the shit I talked about Eragon feeling as though it were written by a teenage who only got published because nepotism. I stand corrected. It could have been so, so, so much worse.
