Agree to disagree then. Storytelling is not dehumanization. Attacking people is.

If RPF is creepy to you, that's fine. Don't read it. I used to feel the same way, and I won't pretend my current point of view isn't selfish, but I prioritize censorship in written text being avoided at all costs. Nothing good can come of it and, admittedly, I have very little sympathy for rich and famous people, so, I don't care about their feelings as far as fanfiction goes, but fuck anyone who attacks them directly, verbal or otherwise.

I'm not saying I'm right. It is what it is.

Okay. We'll have to agree to disagree then. But I never said anything about censorship or your opinions being selfish? Nor did I say storytelling was dehumanizing, just that every public encounter any famous person has is not a stunt or a character they're playing. Reducing anyones person to an act is what is dehumanizing, not writing fic about it. Just like a random person in the street, or you or me, might behave differently in with our co-workers than with our family. It's not fake, or an act in any way, it's just a different relationship.
I don't read RPF, but I don't try to stop people either. There is a middle ground. I'm sorry for the confusion.

It's all good. I only meant to explain my point of view further regarding censorship, etc. My intention wasn't to put words in your mouth. I think your point of view is pretty grounded and reasonable. Mine has just shifted over the years. Thanks for the conversation.
