WTF books? BOOKS??? like I can ALMOST get electronics from the perspective of my parents , they weren't trying to HURT me but they were.. idk out of touch? didn't get things.

Honestly when I was living with dad again at 30 he asked me how I knew my regular online friends weren't all AI or something. I think he was kidding... I hope. When I was an adult he often joked that friends online could be "guys in prison" and I would always tell him I didn't think prison inmates got THAT much freedom.

From my folks perspective I mean They were born in the 60s and when they were raising my siblings and I in the 1990s there were all these dateline shows about creepy people online and stuff about kids groomed in chatrooms so.. I can kind of get where there anxiety and distrust came from even if i didn't agree with it . and honestly by the time I was developing closer friendships with people online it was when I was in my twenties LOL, well past the preferred age range of the creepers on Dateline and To Catch a Predator"

In fact I recall about 4-5 years ago telling my dad "I'm in my 30s. The kind of guys you really gotta worry about aren't even LOOKING at me anymore"
