OK Go does some great music videos, even when I don’t necessarily love the songs. Every behind-the-scenes tidbit is interesting to me because they take even more work and ingenuity than you might guess.

The famous treadmill one for “Here It Goes Again”: https://youtu.be/dTAAsCNK7RA

Mirrors and robots for “Love”: https://youtu.be/gz9BRl7DVSM

Absolutely insane zero-G flying for “Upside Down and Inside Out”: https://youtu.be/LWGJA9i18Co

I still love "A Million Ways to Be Cruel" as their break-out video, low budget and all. The dedication it must've taken and the way everyone fully committed... brilliant.

Yes! Watching it now, it feels very much from another era, before viral TikTok dances and whatnot. That was really unusual and well-done.

Here’s a link for anyone who hasn’t seen it: https://youtu.be/M1_CLW-NNwc

I love OKGo videos. Even if I don't love the song every video is so fun. My favorite is the car one.

Sledgehammer and Big Time are classics for a reason

though Shock the Monkey is also pretty neato, if weird (weirder than claymation, yep)

Work Woes

(Anonymous) 2026-03-05 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
My boss is the type to complain aimlessly when he's frustrated, he's been bringing me the most random, inconsistent negative feedback and it's getting in my head lately. Other coworkers have said that he often complains about random things and brings up inaccurate criticisms when he's stressed, and not to take it seriously. Overall I like my job and get along okay with him. But it sucks getting called lazy when I'm working hard, and criticized for things that were resolved months ago (like a schedule change he asked me to make last year, I did immediately and stuck to it since then, today he was complaining about my old schedule and using it as an example of my poor performance/laziness).

Any advice for staying calm and focusing on my work in that type of situation? Or how to handle a boss like this? I try as much as I can to just accept the feedback and move on from the conversation without arguing, but it's hard sometimes.

Feel free to share your own work woes too.

My laptop is fucking awful at the moment. It won't let me attach documents to emails after they've been split, it gave me such a hard time with attaching an invoice to the file on the internet and keeps crashing when I try to. It's a Dell and it's slow as fuck.

I fully blame Mercury Retrograde and yes, I stand by that.

My company has hired a chief restructuring officer. That can't be good. I am lazily applying to new jobs but I really like this one (great hours, okay pay).

Most of my woes come from the government these days. Had absolute asshole government attorneys my past few hearings. These type of cases have a bunch of things to prove, but usually the easiest to show is that the client has been in the US for the past 10 years. We always file evidence showing that. And usually the government concedes on that and only fights on the other things.

Only the past couple government attorneys wanted to fight on that, insisting that our client could have left the US between the different bank statements/bills/etc. we filed. Like they seemed to think we were required to file things for every single day of the past few years or something. Which has never been the rule. It is just a massive waste of everyone's time and exhausting and makes me want to punch them.
