Re: Small Generational Survey
(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:00 am (UTC)(link)If it's a site I MUST use for whatever reason, I grudgingly go through the rigamaroll.
Re: Small Generational Survey
(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:03 am (UTC)(link)...you don't want your bank to make you use a password to access your account? Are you a fucking idiot?

But you "grudgingly" have one, and based on your other comments, if you ever mistyped it, you'd blame the bank.
The reason websites want you to have a password before making financial transactions is because there's a risk involved. It's in their interests to protect themselves and you. It isn't realistic for a company to accept the 100% of the burden for fraud -- they'd go out of business from dealing with the expense. And it isn't good service if they don't take basic steps to safeguard their customers' information. You are potentially choosing less secure merchants out of a desire for more convenience, and that's frankly kind of dumb in this day and age.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:27 am (UTC)(link)And that's fine, Felicia, in fact I'd recommend it, but don't act like online storefronts wanting to be more secure is some terrible affront.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:37 am (UTC)(link)They don't get your business...because they don't want you to get defrauded.
And again, based on what you've said. this means that if you ever mistype your password when logging into your bank account, you'll be blaming them and taking your money elsewhere, because it means they don't want your business, right?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:48 am (UTC)(link)No, I am very much not.
You "settled" the banking issue by declaring that you know your password by heart. You're assuming that you'll never mistype it, and that as you get older, it won't get harder for you to remember it. For you to be consistent in your position, then if there ever comes a day that you mistype or misremember, it will mean that your bank will no longer get your business.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:20 am (UTC)(link)Little Caesars* on the other hand? Y'all really want a pizza that bad? Y'all got time to play the password game with Little Caesars? Y'all ain't 50 years old.
*just an example, LC is smart enough to allow guest checkout

(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:28 am (UTC)(link)"Convenient" and "smart" aren't always the same thing. Again, there's a cost for the reduced friction.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-06 04:38 am (UTC)(link)Sucks to be a person who thinks security is inconvenient, and whose personal information gets stolen and misused as a result.
