I actually put 100% of the blame on the BBC and I think they did that shit intentionally. But the way the secret acknowledges but still IMO downplays what MBJ, DL and others went through as a result seems to prioritize one group over another. Many, MANY Black people have clearly said that they don't hold ill will against disabled people or JD specifically, but that they don't think they should be forced to just "forgive and forget" either. Disabled people have a right to exist in public. Black people should not be called slurs when they TOO are trying to celebrate their achievements on stage in front of their peers during a televised awards show. Two things can be true, and this was a failure at multiple levels to create a truly accessible and inclusive environment for ALL participants.
