Americans have plenty slang words for the can. And American media is FULL of scatological humor-- whether it's for kids (for whom loving laughing at poop is universal) or for adults. Seriously, it's EVERYWHERE. If you think Americans have a problem being too prudish about poo, I can only assume you have been managing to avoid a *lot* of American media (what's your secret, by the way?).

Also, I can't NOT say "Americans ALSO have a king who died on the toilet, his name was Elvis", but I do need you to know that is not a serious comment, it just popped into my head.
