Nope, PBS is still around! It was the organization that was responsible for distribution of funds to local stations and NPR that disbanded, due to the government cutting all funding. As I understand it, if they had kept the organization dormant but intact they were worried the government would take it over in the future and use it for media manipulation etc. The lack of funding is one of the reasons I decided to finally pay for the app. They have both new and older shows on there.
