(You'd be surprised how hard it is to find kits that aren't 60% or 75%. This keyboard lives on my desk-- it doesn't have to be small!)
I made my life... more interesting by soldering tiny sockets into the PCB so that the key switches would be hot-swappable. Just read the dimensions from where I ordered them (I used the 0305 ones, as they were the largest)... and then consider that I had to solder close to 200 of those little buggers into place! But short-term obnoxiousness may be worth it for long-term flexibility and repairability.
