He absolutely did not deserve to die, and he definitely was raped. And at the same time, I kind of don't care that much about what happens/is done to Christian? It's weird to me when people watch Midsommer and come out of it fixated on how horrifying it all was for Christian. Like, yeah, it definitely was, and if Christian were a real person he'd have my sincere and horrified empathy no question. But the movie that is Midsommar is so not primarily about him and his horrible fate. I've heard more than one het guy talk about Midsommar like it was about Christian, like Christian was the protagonist or something, and that's just wild to me.

I don't really care about him either, to be honest, it just irks me when people who make money with their videos on horror movies misrepresent certain elements, ESPECIALLY if they usually operate on a certain moral/ideological basis (like feminism etc.) and then turn around and say shit like "he deserved to die because he was a bad boyfriend who cheated".
