JuSt ShUt Up AbOuT TaYlOr SwIfT

Nah. But your amnesia is cute.

I'm sorry that the only joy you can find in your life is to drag a successful woman, right down to bringing her into situations that have NOTHING to do with her just so you can bitch about her. Maybe if you do something else with your time other than shit on someone who brings millions of people happiness, you yourself can be happier.

Now this is a hostile post.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Frankly, seems like calling them out, just makes them troll harder. And yes, I vomited it a bit at the fact the White House is "trolling".

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you really not understand how the comment about TS is relevant to the article?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
There is very, very little overlap between people who would read an article about the Pokemon franchise and people who give a shit about Taylor Swift.

Besides which, that particular point has been made a bajillion times already... so what, exactly, is the intended purpose of making it again here?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
DA

"There is very, very little overlap between people who would read an article about the Pokemon franchise and people who give a shit about Taylor Swift."

All else aside, I'm confused why you'd think this? Are both those things not huge millennial fanbases?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, in the same way that Destiel and Swan Queen are also both huge millenial fanbases.

Which is to say, one has a huge millennial fanbase of people who ship boyslash and the other has a huge millenial fanbase of people who ship femslash.

Which is also to say, there is very, very little overlap between the two, save they're approximately the same age and fannish.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
DA but they’re not TS fans. It isn’t like the articles would only be visible to Pokémon fans, it isn’t like Pokémon fans are incapable of being aware of real world issues. Also, this isn’t generation locked. My father is Silent Generation AND he voted for Trump and even he’s aware that Taylor Swift is under fire from the general public for not objecting to the administration’s use of her music. The comment on the article reads the exact same as “release the files” to me; constant pressure on something the public cares about but the people involved want to sweep under the rug.

I just don't understand why you think there's almost no overlap. Plenty of Pokemon fans I know like Taylor Swift.

???

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, even leaving aside that the story in that link is primarily about MAGA fuckery and not Pokemon the Fandom, on what planet is there "little to no overlap" between people who participate in two of the largest franchises of their generation? Hate to break it to you, but an awful lot of people are interested in more than one popular thing.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a millennial Pokemon fan with a bunch of other millennial friends who are Pokemon fans. None of us particularly care about Taylor Swift beyond some casual enjoyment of her more widely-played songs. I get almost all my information about her from the shit that keeps coming up about her on FS. "Taylor Swift should care about MAGA using Pokemon because she and Pokemon are both things millennials like" is a super weird take.

The take's more that it would be great if Taylor Swift would take a page out of Pokemon's book and also object to MAGA using her music in their promotional videos.

Not sure why you think Taylor Swift has a huge millennial fanbase? Like, just speaking from my own workplace, but those of us in the millennial bracket might casually enjoy some of her songs but the big, serious fans are the younger Gen Zers.

As a certified TS hater, I see why this is annoying, because the world doesn't revolve around goddamn Taylor Swift; can we PLEASE talk about something else for five minutes, etc. Taylor Swift Derangement Syndrome, I s2g.

But at the same time, famously-litigious Taylor Swift not doing anything to prevent this fascist White House from using her music to promote their violent ideology is damning. Either she--a white billionaire, the most protected class of people on Earth--is too cowardly to stick her neck out for anyone else, OR she doesn't mind if her music is the music of fascists. Either way, woof.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Trump steals music left and right (srsly, there's a whole Wikipedia page dedicated to it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musicians_who_oppose_Donald_Trump%27s_use_of_their_music) and I'm not sure if he pays attention to C&D letters, judging from the entries there.

Has she ever issued a statement about the use of her music?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
She has not issued a statement since the current Trump Administration started advertising with her music. This is in stark contrast to several other popular artists who have issued such statements over the past several months, which is why people are raising eyebrows at Taylor.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
i respect the hell out of each and every artist/company who has spoken out against their music (or video game or whatever) being used for fascist propaganda. they risk losing fans who support this current administration, but they have made clear their objection to their art being used by a horrific regime, even if it may not benefit them or may even harm their sales.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Taylor Swift speaking out against the trump administration's propagandist theft would, in a truly bizarre way, only dignify it by making their vile antics seem worthy of being acknowledged by arguably the biggest popstar on the planet. If Taylor Swift had not publicly aligned herself against the trump administration in the past on multiple occasions, and if trump had never publicly declared that he hates Taylor and done things to publicly heckle her, then sure, her not speaking out would leave room for a lot of questions about her values. But she has publicly aligned herself against the trump administration in the past on multiple occasions, and trump has publicly declared that he hates Taylor and done things to publicly heckle her, so in this scenario, it's so much better that she has refused to giving them the further acknowledgement that would only serve to feed them more.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
The only thing I know about Taylor Swift is that Taylor wants sheet metal meme.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's definitely obnoxious.

Also, not the point of the secret, but personally I really respect Taylor Swift for ignoring this whole thing. Sher and her team undoubtedly know that publicly acknowledging it will accomplish nothing politically beneficial and will merely prolong the spectacle and make it clear that this giant squalling toddler has professionally and personally ruffled her.

Ignoring the whole thing completely (at least on the public-facing side) is the most politically beneficial thing someone in Taylor Swift's position can do, and I'm extremely impressed that she's been willing to do it, despite undoubtedly knowing that she will receive backlash for doing so.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. I think it was Dua Lipa who called Trump out for using her music and his team took that info and got even higher views on their videos afterwards.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
politically beneficial = I have just enough "fuck you" money to forget about any promises I made in the past about using my platform to speak out against issues that would otherwise have the alt-right bitching about me being a childless libtard cat lady. Also, I care more about remaining neutral in situations where there are clear oppressors despite all of my privilege, because frankly, other people suffering isn't my problem.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
This is ultimately why Swift is such a successful pop star: because she will do whatever is most "politically beneficial" to her at any given time--morality or ethics be damned.

I don't know what's in her heart, but I know that whatever it is, it doesn't outweigh her self-interest.
