(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)Besides which, that particular point has been made a bajillion times already... so what, exactly, is the intended purpose of making it again here?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)"There is very, very little overlap between people who would read an article about the Pokemon franchise and people who give a shit about Taylor Swift."
All else aside, I'm confused why you'd think this? Are both those things not huge millennial fanbases?

(Anonymous) 2026-03-15 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)Which is to say, one has a huge millennial fanbase of people who ship boyslash and the other has a huge millenial fanbase of people who ship femslash.
Which is also to say, there is very, very little overlap between the two, save they're approximately the same age and fannish.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 12:28 am (UTC)(link)The take's more that it would be great if Taylor Swift would take a page out of Pokemon's book and also object to MAGA using her music in their promotional videos.

(Anonymous) 2026-03-16 12:34 am (UTC)(link)""Taylor Swift should care about MAGA using Pokemon because she and Pokemon are both things millennials like" is a super weird take."
Nobody said this though? I certainly didn't. Someone claimed "there's very little overlap between the Taylor Swift and Pokemon fandoms" which seems untrue to me, that's all.
Nothing was said about MAGA at all.

"Some 45% of avid fans are millennials, people between the ages of 27 and 42, while 23% are baby boomers, 21% are Gen Xers and just 11% are members of Gen Z—those 26 and under."

Keep in mind this was 2023 so that average age is now 30. But yeah, Swift being A Millennial Thing is pretty well known.
