Ngl I'm kind of happy. Sad for all those that were excited, but this is one that I could not see going well.

I just heard that, too. Wonder why, though.

Rumor I read is that Hulu hated the pilot they shot and the people involved didn't like their suggestions for change so everyone just passed on it.

Ahhh, gotcha. I figured it had to be something like that, but rarely does the general population ever get the details.

Honestly I think this is a good thing. Audiences are already showing signs of nostalgia fatigue. And we’ve time and again that decades later sequels and reboots are more likely to harm sentiment towards a franchise than help it (unless it’s children’s entertainment). In the age of streaming, juggernauts of their times are earning above and beyond what traditional syndication allowed and an underwhelming sequel or reboot will kill those viewer hours.

Yeah, to me there's a big difference between a property that really NEEDS a sequel/prequel/reboot and one that's just trying to milk the popularity.

Like, I can think of some things that wrapped up all of their plot threads and character arcs nicely. I don't want to see sequels for those because they don't need them. But there are other things that had stuff left unanswered or vague in ways that left me wanting more, so those I'd be all in favor of sequels for if it means they would address the things left hanging at the end of the original.
