My personal least favorite iteration of this is when a live-action character is played by a POC with medium or lighter skin, and people draw art of the character with much darker skin, differently textured hair, etc. It really feels like they're saying that the actor is insufficiently whatever their ethnic heritage is and they need to be "corrected" to be "POC enough" or something. Especially since it mostly seems to be white fans who do this in my observation

Oh, I hate this. You see it happen with animated characters too, even ones who are officially canonically Word of God stated to be POC rather than white (Luz from Owl House, Lance from Voltron, etc.). And yeah, it really does feel like a "you must be this dark to count as a POC" sort of thing.

It grosses me out.
