WRT race/weight bending without some bigotry behind it--I feel this way with a lot of trans headcanons. Out of a lineup of women, people always pick out the tallest, most masculine girl to be a trans woman, and of guys, always the twinkiest to be a trans man. Maybe that's true to life in some ways, but it honestly FEELS really bad, as a trans person--like we're always clockable, we'll never be able to escape the social legacy of our birth gender, etc. I wouldn't be nearly so averse to the idea of trans headcanons if I could trust people to pick out feminine waifish girls to be trans women or big beefy dudes to be trans men on occasion, but I truly and sincerely cannot.

This one drives me nuts in Sailor Moon fandom, Jupiter is *always* the trans girl (and half the art will draw her really built and mannish, which feels almost anti-trans). Heaven forbid she just be a tall girl, no she must be a trans girl who’s only barely passing or you’re not woke enough. It absolutely gives a feeling like trans people will never truly pass, there will always be a ‘tell.’
