Oh, of course. But are you saying that you think OP is looking for love songs that are about people in an explicitly D/s sort of relationship?

That seems like an incredibly rare thing.

I read their request as describing some kind of non-sexual “dominance” that didn’t have much to do with a defined kink dynamic.

Yes, that's why I'm asking for recs. Since I can't find any.

Doesn't have to be explicitly D/s, but romantic songs that could be read that way is close enough. Plenty of songs COULD be read as from a sub to a dom but not the reverse...

That is not at all what I thought you were looking for. I didn't even think D/s relationship. I thought you wanted a song from like the POV of a Morticia looking at Gomez.

If it can be read that way.

It's mostly interesting to try to think of any. I came up totally blank and so did other people I asked, so I'm asking FS. Maybe someone can think of one. Or maybe they don't exist at all.

Ah, thanks for clearing it up!

I found your initial request quite ambiguous about what “dominant” meant.

Now you’ve got me thinking about power dynamics and gendered roles in love songs…

People mentioned ones Blurred Lines and that sort of thing but no ew those are like consent ignoring songs, not 'loving dominant' songs. Other songs like whatsit, Phantom of the Opera type things are all 'villain' songs and not meant to be 'loving healthy'.

It's just honestly weird that there's almost NONE that are just... love and romance.
