I like The Last Jedi okay. Not the best Star Wars movie, but enjoyable enough and probably the best of the sequels. Poe is what ruins it a bit for me, though. He's just such an idiot, and we're supposed to be rooting for him and buy him as a hero. I find I can't really get past that.

I genuinely don't get this secret. What actor did you want in the role instead? And what is your problem with this choice?

I understand being sick of fan service but just don’t see this as that. I see it more like casting someone who’s a passionate Trekkie à la Whoopie Goldberg vs “we have the voice of Mariner!” I know there is obviously some crossover between LD and SA but on the whole, it really doesn’t seem like the same audience.

Your like about the SAG card though makes me curious. Was there someone in particular considered for the part that didn’t get it? Or are you just saying in general the role should have gone to anyone who didn’t have their card yet?

I was so into Game of Thrones. Right up until the last season killed my love. I can't bring myself to go back and watch. That final season just killed the show for me. I do miss the dragons, though.

As a character I really don't like Eddie, though he's not as bad as Buck. But he's just so damn attractive. It is always weird to me when the show portrays it as Buck being more popular with women (and men) when Eddie is in the room.

My friend who watches the show does so for Buck and she hates Eddie, so I think that maybe it's a different strokes thing?

Ugh I hate Eddie and don't find him attractive, which honestly I can admit is probably because I don't like him. Personality can definitely change how physically attractive a character is to me.

I was shocked when I looked at the highest-rated books on Goodreads and saw that Fourth Wing was number three. I'm so sorry if you liked this, but I honestly thought it was pretty bad. There are other books in the top lists that aren't exactly amazing literature, but this one I thought was really quite terrible.

I still haven't read this. I have't read a lot of new stuff recently. I'm always down for dragons, though. I've read some pretty terrible stuff that was fun just because dragons. Dragons can improve some otherwise really bad media.

Honestly I’m surprised it isn’t higher. It’s a fun premise that is pretty well executed. I wouldn’t have read it if I’d known it was romantasy so I got about 3/4 of the way through when that happened and it dragged the book way down. I did finish and even read the next one and started the third before giving up. Everything outside of the romance was really fun and kept me wanting to know what happened next.

Considering how popular romantasy is, I can easily understand why it’s so high on Goodreads. Especially because GR skews to young women.

It's utter shit but it's popular on Tik Tok so there you go. I gave it one star instead of two so I feel like you were generous with it. There's a lot of great videos on YouTube tearing it apart if you want a good laugh though.

Any 'Dark' fantasy book recs?

I had recently read The Witcher: The Last Wish out of curiosity since I can't be bothered to go out my way to watch the series - and although I wasn't a big fan of the casual misogyny in every other chapter (but still tempted to continue reading the series since my local library has them), I now have a craving for fantasy books.

While looking up queer fantasy I saw Jen Williams The Ninth Rain and The Night and Its Moon by Piper CJ being recommended, but I'm willing to read anything without queer rep or romance - especially if its not part of a series or a 'YA cosy' novel.
