ayrt and exactly! This was me with Fullmetal Alchemist and Nirvana in Fire. I love them. I think they were amazing. I also think they ended exactly the way I wanted them to end and wrapped up the overall plot as well as the individual character arcs perfectly, so I haven't touched fandom for either of those two things at all despite how much I love the canons themselves. I have zero interest in reading fic for either of those two things.

But there are plenty of other canons that made me go "this was great, but Bob's character arc really felt rushed" or "hey why did they introduce this concept and then never do anything with it?" Those are the canons I want fic for, because I want explanations or elaborations for the things that canon just sort of glossed over.
