Biggest issue with my dad is that my mother and I have been telling him to get a hearing loss check up because he's borderline deaf by now but the main reason he refuses (and pretends he still has perfect hearing) is not because he genuinely believes he actually still does have great hearing but that he would have to admit the we were right and he was wrong. And there's nothing worse for him than that.
