I personally can't call myself a fan anymore, though I do have fond feelings and memories of the materials and the fandom. There are still lessons and insights I learned from this series that I use to help me process the world. And I always feel so conflicted so I don't really talk to anyone about it lmao

At most, I'll tell people I loved HP a lot when I was younger but JKR'S anti-trans stuff turned me off to the whole thing. I add in I don't begrudge anyone for still enjoying it, but I personally don't engage with it and the fandom anymore.
People in my life who don't know much about or don't like the T in LGBTQ tend to be too shocked or uncomfortable to carry the conversation further.
