I totally agree with this.

As for the unearned sex scene, I've found that to be a constant in her writing, for me. Regardless of whether it's fanfic or original fiction, when things turn sexual it feels like it comes almost out of nowhere to me. It's not that I don't realize the central pairing is going to have sex at some point, but she never really does anything to build them up to that point, so when it does happen it always feels like, "Wait, what? Why tho?"

I kind of have a pet theory NN is aromantic (and not the kind of aromantic that gets really into fictional romance by proxy, but the kind that's just not into it at all). Yeah, I know, speculating about people's sexualities is rude. That's why I'd never do it anywhere but here. Also, I'm aroace myself (but the kind that's all about my ships falling wildly in love and fucking each other's brains out).
