I'm glad the Buffy tVS reboot is now dead. I just wish that it had taken the Firefly reboot down with it when the deal collapsed.

There's a Firefly reboot? Ugh. I was excited about the Buffy show (I think more of a sequel than a reboot). But while I can enjoy Firefly a little, I think it is massively overrated. And does not need a continuation.

its animated, not live action, if that helps, and set before Serenity, not technically not a continuation.

Same. I'm already hearing about it too much.

100% this.

I loved Firefly back in the day, but between Joss Whedon, Adam Baldwin and the last few years of rumours regarding Nathan Fillion being an asshole, I won't be watching.

At least its animated and not live action, less chance of it being a success imo.

Yeah I was a huge Firefly fan. Some friends and I took a road trip to see the unfinished movie when they did a special "for the fans" premiere. But I'm not looking forward to this as I don't see how it can hold up. I am glad it will be animated and that Wash will be in it but still think it won't be good.

Plus idk if anyone else remembers bit when asked about what the plans were for s2 years ago they talked about this whole episode where the plot was for Inara to be raped by a bunch of Reavers. Ever since reading that I've been very thankful there was no more Firefly.

Oh god yes

Same! I got flamed so hard for expressing the same with a group of fandom friends. Just ket these shiws live in their glory days in the past. Not everything needs a reboot or a sequel!

Oh I'm bummed about Buffy and I'm looking forward to FF. They are only getting Joss' okay; he won't be involved.

I could imagine a Buffy sequel/continuation that would have been good. New generations of slayers, old characters settled into some kind of retirement, a look at how the world of slayers and watchers has changed. Of course, whether that was likely to actually happen is another thing.

But I struggle to imagine a Firefly continuation that would excite me. Even if it’s an animated prequel, which seems like a pair of comparatively good choices, I’m just not so interested in the world or the characters anymore, I guess.

+1, I can imagine a Buffy continuation pretty easily, and it definitely has more to say. Firefly? No.

I was a fan back in the day, but wow every mention of Firefly annoys me now. Including this reboot
