OP here to clarify: it's canon compliant in the sense that setting and character constellation are very easily recognisable and I can't really imagine a rewritten version that still keeps the framework but doesn't still scream "hey, this used to be a Harry Potter/Hogwarts setting fanfic!". Given the title is going to be something like "Wolf Boy"(yikes) it seems they're going to lean in more into the whole werewolf aspect but still, the setting and overarching plot needs a LOT of rewriting to not be super on the nose.
