What are some of the most disappointing roles of your favorite actors? Either too short or too terrible?

Wanda Sykes in Evan Almighty. She's a great comedian, but IMO that was such a garbage role for her.

Oh, there are some doozies. All my favorite actors are guys who say yes to EVERYTHING. I'm not rewatching Baby Geniuses as an adult just so I can pay attention when an actor I like is on screen. I'm not watching Cats & Dogs even for the sexiest man on earth (Jeff Goldblum). But I HAVE sat through some things. The Sound did not have nearly enough Christopher Lloyd. Nothing ever has enough Steve Buscemi to suit me.

everybody here knows how much I looooooove Hugh Laurie but he has been in a few real stinkers, especially some of his little kids' movies (I do like Monsters vs. Aliens and Tomorrowland though, and I think he should be in some record book re: Tomorrowland for being the first person to say "bollocks" in a Disney movie)

Oh Keanu Reeves, the movies I have sat through be he was in it.
I think the 'worst' was probably Siberia. I would say one of the Spongebob movies, but aside from him being a disembodied head I have clean forgotten the plot of that movie.

What is everyone doing this weekend?

My sister, BIL, and I will be watching a movie tomorrow (the Sisu sequel). I'll also be working on my fungus guy. Got his hood and one accessory done. Got to work on his mushrooms and ears tomorrow. Otherwise, hopefully going for a walk if it isn't horrifically windy (like it is right now).

Shopping and trying a new café with some friends followed by dinner (all you can eat sushi!!!). After that, meeting with other friends and going clubbing. Never really liked clubbing but a few weeks ago my friends and I had a great time so we're going again.

Have to complete some party planning stuff for my parents, so my deadline this weekend is Sunday. Might do my sister's nails Sunday too.

Going to see Project Hail Mary for the third time. I was thinking of going to bonsai club, but I've been overdoing it lately and it wouldn't be sensible. I might go and buy a tree to turn into a bonsai tomorrow, but am not sure if miniature pears have the right growth habit. The one I saw last week had an interesting trunk, though.

Tomorrow is work and erands. I stupidly said yes when one of my bosses asked me to come in for the morning consults (once or twice a month we have saturday morning consult time for people who can't make it in during the week). Then I need to do oil change and grocery shopping.

Sunday is Lord of the Rings all day. Theater here is showing all three extended back to back. HOnestly don't know if I'll make it through all three, but going to try.

No idea because at this moment I feel like I'm fighting a cold. :P If I feel better tomorrow I may go to the local makerspace (I've already used up my quota of 3D printing, alas) to do some cross stitch-- the lighting and seating are pretty good (my current setup is better for electronics) and maybe there will be people to schmooze with.

I broke my ankle on Monday so I’m just sitting around doing nothing. I have a knee scooter getting delivered on Sunday. If it is delivered early enough in the day, hubby will assemble it when he comes home from work and take me to the park for a walk. I’m going stir crazy.

Most of my favorites are not realistic. Like Mowgli, Grogu, all the Batman kids, Truman (Truman Show), Leia/Luke, Tarzan, Lilo (and Stitch :p), and Po from Kung Fu Panda.

The first character to come to my mind was Worf, and I haven't got a single example for 'realistic', but my favorites are Despicable Me and Kung Fu Panda-- both feature adopted characters being loved wholeheartedly, whether their stories involve changing the life of an adopted parent for the better, or discovering later in life that they're adopted and searching for their roots, and both came out at a time to be meaningful to the happily adopted person in my life, so they got to grow up with adoption stories.

I guess the movie version of Stuart Little as well, going back to things from when *I* was younger.

Izzy from Digimon Adventure is my favorite by far. I don't know how realistic the story is in regards to the real adoption process in Japan, but it makes me cry every time.

Rishid from Yu-Gi-Oh. I love him, he's just so noble and amazing. Nothing realistic about his adoption... wait, nvm. I'm pretty sure that might be exactly what happens in cults world-round.

She isn't exactly legally adopted by Mose but I think Addie in Paper Moon counts.
