now in my 40s and I love my lowkey fandom outfits (and my less lowkey fandom stuff, I do have my straight up nerdy fandom tees and one straight up replica of an article of clothing one character wears). It just makes it easier to get through a stressful day somehow.

Like, if I've got to do something I really hate, at least let me have the armor of something I really love! A couple winters ago when I had to live out of a hotel after the house flooded, I wore my 'Hill Valley: A Nice Place To Live' sweatshirt every day and just felt a little more like I could handle my own temporary displacement. If I've got to go to the dentist and I can wear a shirt that reminds me of my D&D character, maybe I'll be a little braver about a thing that scares me! And sometimes, I just... LIKE doing it, I like bringing whimsy to grocery shopping even if grocery shopping isn't stressful. (well, it is in THIS economy, but you know what I mean)
