Lots of the people in one of my fandom discords are super lovely people, they're good for bouncing ideas off of and we all just love chatting about the canon, it's just a nice place to be.

So many of them are some of the worst artists I've ever seen however and no matter how sweet they are I can't lie and pretend that what they're showing in the art channels is any good, so I just don't say anything and leave them to it.

I really find secret and picture combo hilarious, because art here is Andre Butzer, quite decent contemporary expressionist.

Still would rather look at human made art, even if not good, than AI shit.

We all start somewhere, though we don't all go elsewhere, and maybe there's nothing wrong with that.

As an artist myself, I'm absolutely fascinated by artists who don't seem to have any concept of how bad their art is because when I look at my art I see every single flaw or thing I could have done better. The total lack of self-awareness is something I just don't understand.

My fandom is similar but it’s mostly on Reddit that I see the terrible art. The PTB are hosting an art contest to put on merch because the fandom has been whinging forever about the terrible merch but the stuff that’s getting submitted is even worse. There has been one good entry so far and the few good artists who are active in the fandom are sadly not participating in the contest :(

My friend is streaming my favorite game, but one of his friends/regulars (also a player) is SO annoying. They have some of the dumbest takes known to man, but they're also just factually wrong a lot, and no matter what it is, they double down when they receive any pushback at all.

(EG:
"That's [battle class]!"
"It's actually [other class]. [Battle class] didn't come out until later."
"But her outfit is the inspiration for [battle class]."

?? No, it's not?? Those costumes are similar because of bog-standard anime orientalism, you fucking dumbass.)

I sometimes wear fandom themed outfits in regular life. Nothing obvious - think 'Disneybounding' but more subtle. No actual fandom t-shirts or whatever.

I'm in my 30s, so I'm sure a lot of people would consider this sad and immature. As far as I know, no one has ever noticed, and if they did, I'd have plausible deniability because I'm always pretty subtle.

For some reason people right now seem to love the "could X person be caught by Columbo" and they always justify it as Columbo winning. I disagree, there are four words to defeat Columbo that any halfway competent character could use to win: "Talk to my attorney!". As soon as they think he sees them as a suspect.

Columbo is written to win in his show, because it is his show. Nerds, accept it please!
