For context: my industry is highly highly regulated because if something goes wrong, people die.

So you can imagine I was floored when my boss said she wanted us to use ChatGPT to write code for a project.

The code kept almost working. Almost. But it also kept breaking in ways none of us understood because we didn't code and didn't know enough to code it in the first place.

If regulators found out, they'd be correct to make sure my supervisor never worked in our industry again.

In a larger context: Tech and the private equity entangled in it are not regulated.

This week's Atlantic article is really scary stuff if you wanna work around the paywall to read it.
