(Anonymous) 2026-03-29 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)Nah in Sharpe's Justice George Wickham, a posh Southern Git who is in command of a Northern Militia (exactly as Jane Austen left his character) and who sat out the war at home in comfort and corruption, canonically gets stabbed to death by Sharpe for making the mistake of being a posh git in a Sharpe episode, and for thinking that being a good performative duellist meant he was also a good combat swordfighter. Turns out those are very different skillsets and he only won his first duel with Sharpe because it was a social performance and Sharpe was holding back from every kill opportunity Wickham left himself wide open to.
