Re: What is a piece of media who hated that led you to a piece of media you love?

Funnily enough mine is also The Witcher, except its for the 'first' book of the series that I was advised to read before starting the main series - which not only turned out to be re-imagining of fairytales (not the biggest fan of those in the first place) I just didn't care much for the general vibe of the book.

In any case, back when I had just gotten into reading The Last Wish, I had seen a rec list of books for people who wanted a 'queer' version of the Witcher and had found out about The Ninth Rain by Jen Williams.
I'm only one book in and still waiting for the second book in the series to arrive through my local library, but I really loved the first book.

It is always an awesome feeling to find a new book series to enjoy.

Jen Williams is a current fav author of mine. I really loved her Copper Cat trilogy set of books and I have The Ninth Rain ready to start once I’ve finished my current read.
