Agree. If nothing else it's good to respect the people who were close to the person who has passed and don't intrude on everything they have to sort out. Especially since when it comes to the internet, the majority of people are just rubberneckers that want to write some zingers, they were never victimized and don't have any skin in the game.

You're right about the bitterness. It stirs up negative emotions in your own body which is tough, and then it makes things more difficult for the surviving friends and family, which is tougher.
