I don't know why everyone hates the liquid glass update for iOS so much. I like it 🫣 But I feel like I'm in a small minority. And I promise that I am NOT an Apple fangirl or apologist. They can AND DO make plenty of decisions I don't like. But I just like the way the UI looks. It reminds me of the Frutiger Aero aesthetic, which I have always loved.

The only thing I hated was how it changed the numbers of the time display on the lock screen to “translucent” by default.

Once I fixed them back to opaque white, I was perfectly happy with it.

I hate it. I've had eye surgery and the glass look bothers my vision. If they left it as an option, like dark or light mode, I wouldn't care. But I hate that they made it mandatory.

It annoyed me because I have chronic vertigo and need things to not wiggle around. But once I fixed a few settings it was good again.

Frankly, I think Bill Cosby is just a fall guy. Not to detract what he did, but Hollywood is all about people like him, and always was. It was born in sleaze, it attracts sleaze. Same with the music industry. Epstein and Diddy weren't the first, nor the onlies, for their respective circles.

So, really, they pretty much all need a housecleaning.

But it shouldn't mean we need to throw away a century's worth of fine entertainment. It just means we need to remember what a "false idol" really is (hint: it has little to do with statues or pictures in and of themselves) and keep in mind lessons about not worshipping them when the next set of clowns and entertainment monkeys comes along.

They had it right in the days before Broadway, or Shakespeare, when entertainers were considered the lowest of the low, and not lionized like now. I guess we now see the reasons why.

I recently got into a new, reasonably popular ship (let's call it A/B). At first I was really excited. Right up until I realize that the sexual dynamics I had envisioned for A/B are totally incompatible with canon. To make matters worse for me, their canon sexual dynamics are also the only way B is comfortable with sexual intimacy at all, due to his CSA trauma. So unless I want to rewrite the way B is dealing with his CSA, I'm basically stuck.

I wish I could at least talk about this with someone, but everybody seems to love A/B's canon sexual dynamic, and I feel like talking about how I headcanon them differently would not be particularly welcome.

Note: By "sexual dynamics" I don't just mean who tops and who bottoms. It's more than just that.

Secrets you don't want to make...

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that long comment secrets can be difficult to make with a good end result. Most of the time, I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'm trying something new with the comment secret thread and extending the deadline to comment until Monday's post goes up. I'll monitor this thread until then, and hope the extra day will be more helpful for everyone.

The first rule of all fandoms seems to be that half the fans are only there to complain about the thing they are supposed to be fans of. It is so exhausting, why must we be there to hatewatch or "ironically" watch, can we not just watch-watch and enjoy it? [Fandom is.... oh, lets say Scrubs and The Wuzzles]
