Secrets you don't want to make...

(Anonymous) 2026-04-03 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best. Please note that long comment secrets can be difficult to make with a good end result. Most of the time, I'll give it a shot but might not be able to make secrets where the text is so lengthy that I can't fit it into the limited space.

I'm trying something new with the comment secret thread and extending the deadline to comment until Monday's post goes up. I'll monitor this thread until then, and hope the extra day will be more helpful for everyone.

Cheers,

a secret maker

P.S. Please don't worry if you've submitted a secret and it hasn't been posted yet. I usually post these threads before running out of the previous batch of secrets to get a head start on the next batch.

The first rule of all fandoms seems to be that half the fans are only there to complain about the thing they are supposed to be fans of. It is so exhausting, why must we be there to hatewatch or "ironically" watch, can we not just watch-watch and enjoy it? [Fandom is.... oh, lets say Scrubs and The Wuzzles]

[note for secretmaker, please leave the last set of square bracketed notes in the secret, please, but not this bit, thanks-you are a star]

I'm no longer consuming news unless it is delivered in the form of an Afroman song.

[Spoiler warning for The Star Wars, also known as Star Wars, and Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope]
I hate that if the first Star Wars movie was made today, the scene of Darth Vader escaping the Death Star destruction would be an "End/Mid Credits Scene" instead of being in the movie proper. The need to hold stuff back for the credits ruins the flow of so many movies.

My teenager started watching Buffy, a show I loved as a child - yay!

She watches it at her Dad's house - that's cool, we can still talk about it during the time I have her.

My child likes XANDER?!?!?!?! Disappointing, or at least weird, but honestly not surprising since my ex-husband and Xander share personality flaws, and my child idolizes her father.

I have an OC that I've commissioned drawings of, and the best way to get results is to describe him like a twink Kylo Ren, sans moles.

I enjoyed Top Chef soooooooo much more now that the contestants get along and the drama isn't hyped up between them. Yeah, focusing on cliques and mean characters doesn't actually show off the cooking talent on your show or give you any industry credibility. Friendly seasons = best seasons.

[TV show: The Sopranos]

It's still a favorite show, one of the best written I've ever watched.
But the older I get, the harder it is to get through the series. The show's bad/sad shit hit my emotions more. I keep realizing certain characters will soon die/betray, or even seeing Tony/Meadow/Uncle Junior lose their souls as the series goes on, makes me really sad.

The show is doing what it's meant to be doing, but I can't handle super dark stuff the same ways anymore. Like, damn, the mob life (and America) is depressing AF.

Between the Bayonetta sequel controversy and the Blue Reflection sequel controversy, maybe lesbians need to learn that games marketed to horny teenage boys will always let them down.

I love the Elizabeth Taylor music video because:

1. I get to look at one of the most beautiful faces to ever grace this earth
2. I don't feel like I have to scour the whole thing for a million TS Easter Eggs
3. It reminds me of the kind of fan vids people used to make, the ones where they actually went through tons of footage and at the very least matched the beat of the song to the editing (if not the lyrics as well). Plus they didn't rely on leaving dialogue in like it seems everyone does nowadays, which is just the antithesis of a music video if you ask me.

Everyone assumes that because I love competitive baking shows, I must like Nailed It!

Truth is, I find it unwatchable. It's jarring, too loud, and obnoxious.

i'd understand people's fervent need to cling to harry potter if the series was actually any good.

but it's basic kids lit if we're being generous.

the fact that so many grown adults hold onto it like it's some god tier level of writing truly makes me belive that those same people haven't progressed past an age 11 reading/media comprehension level.

Wyll's story feels flatter and kind of half-assed compared to many of the other companions in BG3.

And Wyll would get a lot less complaints from fans for being 'boring' and 'idk he's just annoying' if he was white.

Both of these concepts can exist at the same time.

Yeah, I know my soccer team sucks right now and has struggled for awhile (Atlanta United, MLS) but my wife and I have been going to games since we started dating and the franchise has given me so many good memories, I'll stay loyal, even if my boys are a punchline sometimes.

I'm happy that Matt Damon/Ben Affleck shipping has made a comeback.

It's probably not all us old Dogma fans either, but new generation making memes and shitposts?!

The real moral of the story in Invincible is "Girl, you can't fix him. Stop marrying fixer uppers". Oh, Debbie, you shoulda stopped trying years ago. Long before the events of Season One.

Goddammit! First, Lost in Austen makes me feel sympathy for Wickham. Now The Other Bennet Sister makes me like Collins too. Well at least Mrs Bennett remains five hundred shades of awful, there better be no P&P spin-off that makes me feel sorry for her!!!

Just watching The Other Bennet Sister, and it has quite convinced me; Richard Coyle's eyebrows need to get many more acting roles. And the rest of him too, I suppose.

I absolutely love the ship Zooble/Gangle and have drawn a lot of private fanart for myself, since the fandom scares me too much to actually post anything up. Its the first time I've drawn so much fan art without sharing it online.

I have such a crush on Greg Davies.

I've been watching Taskmaster and seeing him on the panel shows for years and just thought he was funny, but I randomly started watching interviews where he is more genuine or more himself and there is just something about his vibe in those interviews that has clicked in my brain and now such a crush.

Loving the new Scrubs episodes. I am so impressed how all the actors and the writing feels like they jumped right back into the characters. I even love the new characters!

Except for Dr. Park.

Idk if the actor is bad or the character is bad or what but I feel like every line he has makes me cringe from awkward delivery.

I feel like fandom etiquette died long ago with the removal of the fourth wall and the move to twitter.

I am seeing more and more people complaining about it as though it is a sudden change, but this has been a problem growing for years.

Sibling headcanons in mcyt spaces are so boring to me bc they only really encompass a very narrow and specific type of 'sibling behavior' that I just don't relate to or find interesting. I like these people interacting together, sure, but 'omg that's so sibling coded!!' is Not my first response I'm gonna be so frfr.
