I'm older than you. They could have gotten away with more. Like, oh I don't know, giving the girls any interaction with each other at all. Adventure Time gets all the flack for queerbaiting Bubbline, and that show was doing miles better with the subtext at the same time Legend of Korra was supposedly making history with its "canon" gay ship.
