I didn't want to sound judgemental, but if it did then it wasn't my intention. I suppose I wanted to sound more like a pep talk ha.

Anyways, while I'm aware that there are people out there with more severe self-esteem issues, there are even more people, I found, who are just fishing for comments or writing things like that simply because they really don't know what else to write on their summary. I'm not putting down people who really have these issues and are trying to work through them. I guess I didn't communicate very well that I think most, not all, of the people who do this don't suffer from intense negative mind-sets and need to stop because it does get old, and even that little confidence can improve their work so that it doesn't 'suck'.

Ah, I getcha. Pep talks are important for such people I think. And it's a shame when people use such self-deprecating comments to garner compliments when there are people with genuine low self-esteem who struggle to take pride in their work. It's like (but on a completely different scale, of course) people who practically brag about self-harm when there are so many people who truly suffer.
