I am also someone who needs quite downtime to recharge, but I also enjoy activities like hiking and travel etc. It's just I gotta balance it with the quiet downtime or I burn out on those activities.

But ngl I've recently gone on antidepressants and my energy levels are so much better. Like I still need quiet downtime, but before I would have energy to tackle basically one thing a day. Didn't matter if it was a chore or a hobby, I only had energy to put towards one thing then the rest was downtime recharging. And mostly that was all on the weekends. Now I'm coming home from work and actually putting energy into other hobbies and the change just blows my mind because I don't really feel any different, but if you look at my activity level clearly things have changed.

Sorry, this kind of became my own random thoughts sharing. But I do find it really interesting how different people work and different energy levels. Even at this new and improved energy level I am nowhere near what my brother is. We call him a putterer because he can't sit still, always up and puttering on a project.

Antidepressents do help, been on them for 20 years at this point, but even with those I still have low energy.

I think the one physical activity that does energize me is swimming. Mostly because I grew up on the ocean, always found water calming and de-stressing.
