Finch is a cute little mobile app designed to help you practice self-care and complete tasks. You have a little bird who you care for by completing self-assigned tasks and goals. Once you complete enough daily goals, your bird goes on an adventure and makes discoveries. You can dress up your bird and decorate their room.

It is the cutest, most harmless app ever.

And the Reddit community is full of the whiniest, most toxic, insufferable people I have ever seen on the internet.

This has to be the most chill app, and yet people find reasons to complain and be dramatic about EVERYTHING.

They don't like the monthly theme. They don't like that their bird likes something they hate/hates something they like. They don't like that the clothes make their bird look fat. They don't like one of the prompts the app gave them to journal on. They think the bird's reaction to a scenario is promoting harmful ideas to children.

The problem is that people never say, "I don't really like this because it isn't suited to my tastes." They say, "This is bad because it is wrong and it should be changed/removed."

It is absolutely ridiculous. People have made separate subreddits because the main one is so fucking toxic. And honestly, I am still shocked that people find a way to be so toxic about such a lighthearted, fun, harmless app.

I think what I miss about 2010s fandom the most is 8tracks. While I barely listened to fanmixes, I loved curating my own (with moderate success because of niche fandoms but it was still fun).

Sure, you can create playlists on Spotify but there are a LOT of songs that aren't actually on Spotify (as I just had to learn while trying to recreate some of my old playlists in a fit of nostalgia) and it's just not the same.

The Ed, Edd and Eddy movie did my heart good, and I'd love to see a continuation of the show with them as friends with the neighborhood kids. I miss that show. (Edd was my favorite).

These two shows are very similar in type: smutty genre fiction (that's either going to work for you or not).

But it has not escaped my notice that the folks who all but demand that Bridgerton fans 'fully grasp and understand' that their show is soft-core-smutty-trash, have done nothing but hype up and treat Heated Rivalry as if it's better than what it actually is: smutty genre fiction.

It's fine to like smutty fiction, I don't care if people are into one or both of these shows, but it has been deeply funny to see people treat the latter as High Art that only Smart People Are Into... when it's as much of a kinda trashy smutty romp as the former.

The first rule of all fandoms seems to be that half the fans are only there to complain about the thing they are supposed to be fans of. It is so exhausting, why must we be there to hatewatch or "ironically" watch, can we not just watch-watch and enjoy it? [Fandom is.... oh, lets say Scrubs and The Wuzzles]

You could also use YouTube Music, it's still not quite like 8tracks but at least you can add any song as long as it can be found on YouTube (even if it's in an AMV or an unofficial upload or live recording or whatever). And if the song you're looking for is not on YouTube at all it's easy enough to upload it.
