I remember I used to hate on Goodnight Sweetheart on account of Gary coming across as a bit of a scumbag, but they were rebroadcasting the sequel special and I thought I'd give it one more chance because maybe I was being too judgemental and too much of a hater. Nope, it is still a meanspirited kind of humour with a protagonist who is a complete git.

Oooh, are you the same person with the “time traveling scumbag Gary Sparrow” secret from last year?

The wording on that one really stayed with me and I still giggle when it comes to mind.

Guilty, yer honour.

A plea that timetravelling scumbag bigamist Gary Sparrow would never make, because that would mean him taking personal responsibility for his actions.

Ugh I HATED this show. I worked from home and left the Telly on for my dog. I’d pick stuff I liked because I’d listen from my office. This was on Gold right after Last of the Summer Wine and I’d be rushing over to change the channel as soon as I heard this come on.
