I have such a crush on Greg Davies.

I've been watching Taskmaster and seeing him on the panel shows for years and just thought he was funny, but I randomly started watching interviews where he is more genuine or more himself and there is just something about his vibe in those interviews that has clicked in my brain and now such a crush.

He is great when he’s really being more of himself. I can fully understand having a serious crush on him.

(I’ve always loved him on panel shows and chat shows, but I admit his other comedy work didn’t quite land for me. But then I saw The Cleaner, which I thought was wonderfully sincere and genuinely touching at times.)

He's so much goofier than his Taskmaster personality and is great on Would I Lie to You? and talk shows. I also like his stand-up.

One of the best things about Taskmaster is he occasionally breaks character and reveals he's very sweet really. I'm thinking of times when he seems genuinely moved by something or the times he realises he's gone too far and probably broken someone's spirit.

I get that AI is a bad thing. But I just can't bring myself to care that much. With all the genuinely evil happening, with the US turning into Nazi Germany, AI is so far down on the list of bad things happening right now.

I remember I used to hate on Goodnight Sweetheart on account of Gary coming across as a bit of a scumbag, but they were rebroadcasting the sequel special and I thought I'd give it one more chance because maybe I was being too judgemental and too much of a hater. Nope, it is still a meanspirited kind of humour with a protagonist who is a complete git.

I see people talk about how decades of this trope in fiction has convinced too many people to repeatedly forgive those in their lives that needn't, and perhaps shouldn't, be forgiven. But I rarely hear the flip side: how it's erroneously convinced many people that if they take it out on others when very upset, everyone else should, will, or must forgive them. And maybe we should talk about that part more...
