Well, AI literally can't do anything without human input first (we're not talking about stuff it does after the fact). And AI can be used for good - doing repetitive tasks that would take a long time for humans (for example, scanning a million pages of text to find something), or cleaning up old media from the late 1800s/early 1900s. Unfortunately, greedy assholes with money want to use it to steal jobs and art and spy on the public, and don't care if they fuck over the environment (much less the people) to do so.

Yeah, my dad works in a highly specialized scientific field and AI has been a gamechanger for them in the "scanning a million pages of text to find a single very specific reference" thing. It's upped their productivity levels a lot.
