The way Star Wars dudebros worship Zahn drives me up a wall. No, Mara is not canon. Mara was never canon. Mara was never going to be canon. She's cool and all. But Lucas had a clear vision for the Jedi and for Luke. Mara was not part of it. And that's okay. Not every cool thing in the EU needs to be made canon.

Jimmy Carr seems to be getting a lot more attention (maybe because he's so high profile in the UK and because of the tax thing) but I found the entire list of comedians who went to the Riaydh festival interesting. Some of them I thought yeah, of course. Others genuinely surprised me. Out of all of them, I felt that Aziz Ansari had the most thoughtful and reasonable explanation but in general, comedians saw it as a gig and a challenge, not an endorsement of the Saudi government. I think that's fair, but then my own government's been doing some pretty awful things and people still have to work here, so...

Yeah. I have thought about this before. I have severe anemia and a thyroid condition and I determined that once my meds ran out, I would have about a year of steadily getting sicker and I'd be dead before the end of year two. This is based on how sick I got before my issues were sorted out. And my medical issues aren't even that 'serious' in the overall scheme of things, but I'd be super fucked in the end of the world.
