A family friend is treating my mother and me to dinner, so we ordered from a local Chinese place we love.

A small turkey breast/provolone/lettuce hero from the store up the block and a Hungry Man turkey TV dinner, with zero sugar vanilla pudding for dessert.

I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But the jelly is blackberry preserves from the Loveless Cafe and it is so, so good. I treat myself at least once a week when I’ve had a rough day.

Going hungry. Can't afford convenience foods. Can't afford to fix the overhead light in the kitchen, so I can't cook anything.

I just made tuna salad subbing in french onion hummus for the mayo (I can't stand mayonnaise but I love tuna), and the texture of the hummus tuna salad is SO fluffy compared to regular tuna salad. Made up four sandwiches worth for the family, who could have mayo to taste on theirs as a condiment, toasted up some sourdough and divvied up the last of the smoked gouda. Definitely going to be doing this going forward.

I was going to try this local restaurant but I called to place an order and the phone just ran and rang until it went to an answering machine. I had a kind of bad day and was just worn out, so I was like fuck it. I'm not ACTUALLY hungry anyway because I had a large breakfast and a large lunch, so I just came home. Maybe I'll try the restaurant next week.

Thanks! I appreciate it. Today is already better. :) I am giving blood on Monday, so I think I might try that place out afterwards, as a treat. Plus, I'll have a good excuse - I just gave blood, gotta have a good meal!
