Since you’re one of the very few people who heard of the guy before Celeste was found, it’s very strange that you’re apparently totally unaware of the case they’ve been building against him. Everyone knew the day she was found he was her murderer. But no one knew motive or means and there was evidence that he didn’t act alone. Her autopsy took time and the results were deferred. She was extremely decomposed and it took days to even identify her.

I get wanting a case to be wrapped up quickly but from the beginning it was obvious this case would require a lot of time and LAPD did a shockingly good job keeping the public informed so no one forgot about Celeste or thought they weren’t working on her case.
