Agreed!

And it would do well for the types who sneer something like "well I was reading the Hunger Games because I have good taste!" to understand that the success of the HP books influenced a lot of investment into children's books in publishing.

You don't have to like JKR/HP, but you can't deny the influence the series had on culture. Books, fandom, films, pop culture, youth culture.

This isn't a flash in the pan fluke like a one hit wonder getting a big number one hit song never to be heard from again. For better and worse, JKR wrote a book series that influenced many industries because they resonated with a generation.

I don't get what good comes from trying to revise JKR/HP as "always was bad and tricked idiots into giving trash relevance".
