I don't think anyone will ever beat Megan Followes as Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables in terms of being true to the book. You could say that for the whole cast, really. That miniseries was just perfect.

Oh so much yes. I loved both miniseries growing up, and I still love them. The first one is the best, certainly, but I love the second too. The third I didn't know about until a few years ago, and I'm less sold on that one. But the first two still make me smile every time.

Yeah, I think fandom didn't care for the third one so much. It was such a departure from the books, and they waited a bit too long, IMO. It was still nice to revisit the characters, though.
