Denver, CO and Maven Hotel
I will say...downtown Denver felt empty as hell. Most restaurants were ghost towns when we went. It was the deadest downtown I've ever been in.

(Anonymous) 2026-05-02 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)Glad to hear The Maven was a good stay, I'll have to stay there in the future. Free drinks and churros sounds nice.
And TBH Denver is pretty dead! I thought maybe I'd gone in the middle of winter so perhaps that played into the dead-ness. But I'd spent a lot of time in Denver in my teens and early 20s, and it does feel way more dead now than 20 years ago.
I think most people live outside the downtown area, so it only gets busy on the weekends during the summer. I imagine most people spend time in the metro areas more than downtown. Aurora and Lakewood seem to always be bustling with people and events.
