Honestly, some stuff is only obvious in retrospect, and it sucks for that exact reason. And sometimes it is an act that, by itself, is innocent or at least doesn't raise red flags. Things that people might do everyday and not consider weird. Personally, I don't even think the warning about the website was bad unless she REALLY came out of left field to bring it up. It's just unfortunate (and I suppose a bit horrifying) that she was able to hide her more obvious predatory side for so long.

And it sucks when you think highly of someone only to have your trust broken like that.

I haven't heard anything about my teachers being in bad situations (or the cause of them), but I'm also generally not on social media so I haven't kept up with folks. I do sometimes wonder about some situations where a teacher went above and beyond for a student (especially considering I went to Catholic schools for years, so uh... yeah). Personally, I don't want to suspect every nice person of being a predator, but I'm likely to keep mental notes on anyone who gets a little weird. (And yes, I understand with some, at that point, it's possible damage may have already been done. I'm not sure what the best way is of handling such things, I just know it's neither unconditional suspicion nor unconditional trust.)
