What media have you DNF'd recently?

Tried watching a movie called Trap House on Netflix. Genuinely the worst movie I've tried to watch this year.

Frankenstein. And I wanted so badly to enjoy it because I love the story and the cast.

Star Wars; Masters of Evil. It looked cool, I'm always down for books featuring Palpatine and Vader. But they were less present than advertised, and it just wasn't a good book. I gave up about a third of the way through.

I DNF'd Dungeon Crawler Carl but I am going to give it another shot. Also, Incidents Around The House by Josh Malerman.

I DNFed Dungeon Crawler Carl 3-4 times over a couple years and these days being a fan is like my main personality trait. It’s a weird series with some really off-putting stuff right at the beginning. Double that if you listen to the audiobooks because the narrator has a terrible Carl voice in the first book. It’s a great series but it isn’t for everyone. If you can get as far as meeting Meadowlark, I think that’s a good point in the first book to determine if it’s worth sticking with it.

Legacy of Kain: Ascendance - I only got through the first stage before the sheer awfulness of the game (which itself was an adaptation of an equally awful comic) hit me and I then initiated a refund on Steam. Fuck BitBot, fuck Crystal Dynamics, and fuck everyone involved in that digital abortion.

The Mandalorian - Only got up to Season 1, tried to deal with Season 2 but I noped out halfway through the season. It lost some of the specialness imho.

Oh man. I wanted to love the Mandalorian. I only made it through episode 1, though. Some great ideas, but it just moved too slow for me. Was bored.

My best friend loves Peaky Blinders and recommended it to me. I only watched the first episode and couldn't get into it.

Same. From all the things I'd seen about it, it looked right up my alley, but I just... couldn't.

I keep trying an episode or two of Strange New Worlds, and then forgetting to continue. It isn't a case of noping out of it like Discovery S4; I'm just not engaged either way.

Lower Decks and Prodigy, however - gimme more!
